Plan Options
If would like to purchase a meal plan or make a change to the plan you have already selected, more information can be found here. Meal Plans listed below are for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Resident Meal Plans
On-campus residents are required to purchase a meal plan from the below Resident Meal Plan options. Each plan includes Meal Swipes and Guest Meals to the Dining Commons, and Dining Points. Meal plans expire at the end of each semester; however Dining Points roll over from the Fall to the Spring semester as long as you remain on a meal plan. Both Resident Meal Plans are priced at $3,325 per semester.
Resident students are defaulted into Resident Meal Plan 14 and have up to 2 weeks at the beginning of the semester to switch to Resident Meal Plan Unlimited. To switch, please email: mealplan@umb.edu

Resident Meal Plan 14
- Meal swipes per Week: 14
- Dining Points: $700

Off - Campus or Faculty & Staff Meal Plans
For those students living off-campus, if participating in one of our traditional meal plans doesn't fit your needs we have a variety of plans designed for you. Off-Campus Meal plans are valid for the academic year. Unused meal swipes & Dining Points are forfeited at the end of the spring semester.
BLOCK PLANS:
- Block Plans provide you a block of meal swipes to gain access to the Dining Commons.
Neighborhood A: $340

POINTS PLANS:
- Points Plans can be used at any of our on-campus dining locations.
Harbor Plan: $200 200 Dining Points plus THREE FREE Bonus Swipes in the Dining Commons
Beacon Plan: $400 400 Dining Points plus SEVEN FREE Bonus Swipes in the Dining Commons
Commonwealth Plan: $750
750 Dining Points plus TEN FREE Bonus Swipes in the Dining Commons (Best Value!)
COMBO PLANS:
- Combo Plans have meals that allow you to access the Dining Commons and Dining Points which can be used towards purchases at any on-campus dining location.
Combo A: $420
25 meals plus 100 Dining Points
Combo B: $725
50 meals plus 100 Dining Points
NEW! Combo C: $1,470
100 meals plus 300 Dining Points
Please Note: Unused Dining Points or meal "swipes" purchased as part of a Commuter Meal Plan will expire at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year in May 2024. Unused meals will roll over from the Fall to Spring semester provided you remain on a meal plan.
How to Enroll in a Commuter Meal Plan:
- Go to https://beaconcard.umb.edu/ and login using your UMass Boston login information;
- Choose your Meal Plan option and carefully review the applicable contract;
- Choose your payment option – students have the option of adding this to the student bill;
- Click the CONFIRM button at the bottom to agree to the terms and conditions of the contract;
- You are done! Your meal plan will be added to your BeaconCard for use on the first day of the semester.
Meal Plan Definitions
Meal Swipe
- One 'meal' accounts for a single entry into the Dining Commons, our all-you-care-to-eat dining facility. Just tap your Student ID at the entrance to enter.
Dining Points
- Dining Points can be used at any on-campus dining location. Click here to view a list of our dining locations. Dining Points roll over from fall to spring as long as you remain on a meal plan.
Guest Meals
- Guest meals can are used to swipe in a friend or family member when they visit you on campus. When using a guest meal you must accompany your guest into the Dining Commons.
